Landing Gear Prep, Service Letter SL-00014, Top Forward Skin
Hours this entry: 5Started to work on getting ready to install the landing gear so we can remove the fuse from the rotisserie and prep for the finish kit to arrive and get the engine mount on. This included installing the 15+ bolts and related washers/nuts on each each side. Should be able to mount the gear next time.
The stiffeners required for SL-00014 were laid out, drilled and dimpled. I’ll prime the stiffeners and install next time.
Deburred, dimpled and added some light primer on the bottom of the front top skin. I’ll smooth the primer out and paint it the same as the interior color.
Rear Turtledeck Riveting

Clecoed in place, ready to rivet.
All done, nice fit.
Also test fit the rear air vent with the plate I cut on my CNC and primed/painted.
Cut, fit, dimpled, primed and placed the cover for the 8A rear step we don’t need.
Prep for aft Turtledeck riveting

Ran static lines to forward fuselage
Build a mount for the autotrim module.
Cut boards for use while riveting the aft turtledeck.
Finished dimpling the last few holes on the rear turtledeck.
Air Vent mount
Hours this entry: 2Air vents arrived, so I CNC’d a mount for the rear/passenger air vent. Took longer to draw/setup the CNC than it did to cut it.
Fuselage Misc + Rollbar
Hours this entry: 4.5Re-installed the control column, adjusted hardware on the pitch servo. Match drilled the skin support ribs (F-8104) between the top skin and the WD-814 rollbar.
Elevator trim
Hours this entry: 3Change elevator trim to electric. Rivet on new horn, fit mount and install servo into elevator . Test on bench.
Rollbar, Forward Fuselage Skin & Avionics Door

Prepared the items for the forward fuselage skin, including F-803C-1 and all F-821x baggage door support strips. Realized I was going to have some interference between the Avionics door I cut and F-873G which is the upper brace. I had to bend the tab the opposite way on F-873G and create a doubler for it.

Remove Horizontal
